Frequently Asked Questions
Is therapy right for me?
Therapy can enhance your life and benefits anyone looking to improve their well-being. The key factor for successful therapy is you, the client. It requires courage, commitment, and vulnerability. If you’re ready to learn about yourself, overcome obstacles, develop healthier habits, and improve relationships, we are here to help you.
How long will I be in therapy?
Treatment length varies by issue and goals. Brief therapy may last three to five sessions, while longer therapy can extend for years. You and your clinician will work together to decide on a duration that is clinically appropriate and suits your needs.
What is the difference in talking to a therapist versus talking to a friend?
The therapy relationship is distinct. Your therapist offers unbiased support, providing perspectives that others in your life cannot. Attending therapy is a commitment to self-care without fear of oversharing or privacy concerns.
How often do we meet?
Typically, sessions occur once per week. You and your therapist may decide to increase or decrease the frequency of visits depending on progress and need.
What if I’m running late to my appointment?
Your appointment time is reserved for you, so as soon as your arrive, we will begin your session and use whatever time is left.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes in length.
What if I need to cancel my appointment?
Please give at least a 24 hour notice to cancel or change your appointment. A charge of $40 applies for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance.
Can I get a refund if I cancel?
Yes, if you cancel with proper notice, any pre-paid amount will be refunded or credited to a future appointment.
I’m ready to get started. Now what?
To get started, please fill out our New Client Intake Form. This helps us learn more about your needs and match you with the right provider. Once you submit the form, a member of our team will contact you within 1-2 business days to confirm your appointment and answer any questions you might have.
Please note: To secure your appointment, payment is required prior to your scheduled visit.
What should I expect at our first meetings?
Your initial meetings will help you and your therapist assess compatibility. You might answer questions about your background and therapy goals, learn about the process, and discuss a treatment plan. If you’re not a good fit with your clinician, you’ll receive trusted referrals.
